When I first arrived in Melbourne, I was introduced to Elizabeth street- an area where many little cafes and restaurants are sprouting out to serve delicious food. One of the Malaysian eatery would be Sarawak Kitchen, formerly known as Kitchen Inn. Apparently, they have a branch in Perth too.
They are famed for their handmade springy Kolo Mee, which originates from Sarawak. As I am typing, I cannot help but feel hungry. Let me share with you some pictures of my recent trip to Sarawak Kitchen. Also, they have Specials on weekdays from 3pm to 6pm and we were there.
Look at how yummy it is. The Kolo Mee ($7) noodles were springy and nicely marinated with their secret sauce, topped with the generous amount of minced pork and nice char siew slices. You can use the chilli oil that is available to spice things up a bit. I ordered my favourite curry fish with rice $7.8. The fish is fried and then soaked into the tasty curry with aromatic spices and served with vegetables such as eggplants. Simple but delicious.
The prices would be more than $10 during normal hours. This is one of the few places that offers tea time specials and it is really worth a try. Restaurant can be rather packed during rush hours, so be patient and try the delicious Sarawak food fare without having to leave Melbourne.

Indeed. Especially their tea time specials before 6pm on weekdays. It is still quite reasonable on normal days.. nice and fill you up easily
